This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. “Static Choreography” feels like a composition that’s been paused mid-motion—where stillness and kinetic potential intertwine. The upper half of the painting is a breath of pale tones and diffused forms: soft pinks, hints of lilac, and whispery graphite marks floating in airy, textural white.
Lower down, the energy thickens. There’s a sudden density of vertical stripes in bold hues—mustard, ultramarine, vermillion—creating a rhythmic base that anchors the composition. Shapes above seem to hover or lean against each other in slow suspension, their boundaries feathered by scraped texture and erratic linework.
Every inch of the surface reveals a meticulous accumulation of decisions: mark-making, erasure, layering, and revision. The result is a dynamic interplay of control and spontaneity—an abstract ballet of color, shape, and gesture. “Static Choreography” is an ode to the tension between motion and rest, presence and suggestion.
