Amylou Jennings is a contemporary British oil painter whose dynamic cityscapes are shaped by an extraordinary life lived at the edge of physical and creative endurance. Her journey to painting is anything but conventional. A former elite athlete, Amylou competed with the British paragliding team before suffering a life-altering spinal injury during a competition in the Czech Republic. Following her recovery, she turned to aviation—only to survive a plane crash that ultimately reshaped her understanding of risk, focus, and purpose.
Still an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, pilot, and competitive shooter, Amylou redirected her drive in 2023 toward a long-abandoned passion: oil painting. Having briefly studied art in the 1980s, she returned seriously to painting during lockdown, embracing the discipline and humility required to master the medium.
Her artistic breakthrough came through intensive one-to-one mentorship with acclaimed painter Natalia Avdeeva ROI. Over two rigorous years, Amylou completed more than 300 works through a structured programme of plein air painting, studio studies, compositional training, and classical oil painting techniques. This mentorship refined her technical precision while cultivating a deep sensitivity to light, form, and architectural rhythm.
Today, Amylou Jennings is best known for her atmospheric cityscape paintings, celebrated for their meticulous detail, confident brushwork, and immersive sense of place. Her paintings capture the energy, structure, and emotion of modern urban life, making them highly sought after.
