Signet Contemporary Art London

Francesca Currie

Francesca is a full-time artist based in Worcester. Francesca studied at The University College of the Arts in Norwich where she achieved a B.A. Honours in Fine Art. She went on to study at the London Atelier of Representational Art. She moved home in 2015 to set up full-time as an artist. Since then she has exhibited across the country including in London, Broadway and York. She became an associate to the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 2017 and was elected (their youngest) full member in 2018. She has had numerous private and public commissions including The Budworths, owners of the Lady Magazine, SENSE charity, Dr John Inge the Bishop of Worcester, and Frank Southam, the Sword Bearer of Worcester. She has been on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the year 2021 and had the wonderful opportunity to paint Sir Trevor McDonald, who chose her portrait to take home as his personal favourite. She has had a solo show at the R.B.S.A and at John Lewis. This summer, Francesca has begun exhibiting with Trinity House Paintings, an international art dealership specialising in Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern British and contemporary artwork, with galleries in Broadway and San Francisco. Her work combines the traditional techniques of the Old Masters with a modern viewpoint to create classical representational oil paintings with contemporary composition. Francesca is happy to travel for portrait commissions. She will then meet you for a coffee to discuss your needs for the portrait, including size, composition and colour. She will then invite you/the sitter to her studio. All her paintings are Oil on Canvas.
