“I have always been fascinated by art and artists and have painted from an early age. I have been fortunate enough to have been painting professionally for the last twenty-six years although my training was as an interior designer. Having an individual recognisable style to my work has always seemed important and as a Londoner I have always found the London skyline inspirational. I paint in acrylics on canvas and use springy palette knives to create my work and only use brushes for a small proportion of each painting. The fast drying nature of acrylics allows me to quickly build up and layer the paint. I have painted in oils in the past but not for a long time. I hope when people look at my work they see familiar subject matter in a different way and I try to introduce a colour palette that differs from reality while at the same time retaining the figurative with a splash of abstract. I have travelled extensively and been to New Zealand with my wife on twelve occasions and have had many stop-overs from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Shanghai and Singapore and many others. I also lived in Sydney Australia for two years where I also painted”
