EXHIBITION : 19th February – 7th March 2022
Signet Contemporary Art is proud to present our upcoming Chelsea exhibition, running from the 19th of February to the 7th March 2022.
19th Feb – 7th Mar 2022
On display in the stylish and exuberant district of Chelsea, based on its main thoroughfare, Kings Road, this exhibition celebrates the prestigious and picturesque local setting, as well as our artists who depict its breath-taking character and landmarks in their contemporary paintings. The vibrant spectacles of the admired London borough are featured in this selection of artworks such as Sloane Square, Albert Bridge and the Chelsea riverside, promising stunning vistas that are honest representations of an area renowned for its upmarket appeal.
The show explores modern perspectives of the district and its ceaseless charm, presenting cityscape paintings inspired by the area by six contemporary artists. These include Michael Alford, Nathan Neven, David Farren, Juan del Pozo and Ian Hargreaves.
Each artist renders tender and evocative interpretations of the city, reflecting its present day beauty and traditional heritage through a diverse range of expressive styles. The trendy boutique and restaurant culture is expressed in magical pastel toned impasto paint strokes that detail the high street scenes painted by Juan Del Pozo. Nathan Neven paints the gorgeous architectural qualities with a refined ability which is joyfully colourful and lively in style. These works are complemented by David Farren’s figurative studies emanating the rich ambience and enchanting illuminations projected from the Albert Bridge at night.
Few place names hold the same cachet as Chelsea, and this exhibition promises a comprehensive overview of the landscape which remains a major muse for our artists who appreciate the area as much as we do. We work closely with emerging and well established painters who utilise a delectable variety of mediums, guaranteeing a poignant and incredibly interesting experience of the Chelsea area that can be enjoyed through the exquisite new paintings on show.
