View from Chelsea showcases Juan del Pozo’s distinctive impressionist vision of London, rendered in oil on canvas with a vibrant, painterly touch. From a raised vantage point, the city unfolds in layers—historic rooftops in the foreground, the river and bridges beyond, and the modern skyline rising softly in the distance. Rather than precise realism, the artist favours atmosphere and sensation, allowing the city to breathe through expressive mark-making.
The colour palette is particularly striking, dominated by pastel tones and gentle contrasts. Soft blues, warm pinks, muted golds, and fresh greens interplay across rooftops and treetops, while hints of coral and violet animate the sky. These colours give the scene a dreamlike warmth, suggesting a moment suspended between seasons, where light gently wraps the city rather than overwhelms it.
This original painting captures Chelsea not as a static place, but as a living, evolving landscape shaped by light and memory. Del Pozo’s impressionist cityscape balances architectural rhythm with emotional resonance, offering a view that feels both recognisable and poetic. The work is an original and is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online.
