The Passing

This original skyscape painting by Sonia Bukhgalter evokes the comfort exerienced in observing the clouds. In this scene there is a sense of vastness which is highly provocative. Between impressions of cloud formations composed luxuriously onto a gilded surface, a reflection on the physical and spiritual world emerges, creating a beguiling atmosphere to view. Demonstrating the techniques she learnt as a gilder in Florence, the artist features gold which allows her to emphasise a notion of a dimension of divinity.
