In Willow and Mink, Paul Treasure creates a peaceful river landscape filled with light, depth, and atmosphere. Painted in acrylic on canvas, the composition guides the viewer along a reflective waterway bordered by abundant greenery. The scene feels expansive yet intimate, offering a glimpse into an untouched corner of the natural world.
The colour palette is built around harmonious greens, soft blues, and muted cream tones. Reflections ripple across the water in layered passages of colour, while the sky introduces pale grey and blue notes that soften the overall composition. The interplay between cool and warm tones creates a sense of balance and natural tranquillity.
Combining elements of realism and impressionism, Treasure captures the essence of the landscape through texture, light, and gesture. Rather than focusing on exact representation, he conveys the feeling of standing beside a quiet river on a calm day. Willow and Mink is an original acrylic on canvas artwork and is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online.
