In Fantasy Pool, Cornforth depicts a sunlit swimming pool from an overhead perspective, rendered in oil on canvas with a playful yet composed approach. The scene feels suspended in time, blending everyday leisure with a dreamlike stillness. The style combines contemporary realism with graphic clarity, emphasising shape and colour over narrative detail.
The colour palette is fresh and inviting, featuring luminous blues of water contrasted with warm stone, soft greenery, and bold red accents from parasols. These clean, structured colours create a sense of order and calm, while the water’s surface is animated with subtle highlights and reflections.
This is an original oil painting on canvas and is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art and online. Fantasy Pool evokes warmth, nostalgia, and quiet escapism, making it an engaging and uplifting contemporary work.
