Penguin B Upside down

Full of energy and movement, Penguin B brings a delightful sense of playfulness to the viewer. The hand-painted porcelain figure appears mid-tumble, caught in the joyous chaos of a misstep on its icy perch. Its flippers splay outward, and its feet kick up, creating a dynamic and lighthearted moment frozen in time. The sense of weightlessness is beautifully captured, adding an element of humor and spontaneity to the composition.

The contrast between the glossy black and white porcelain against the plush blue velvet background enhances the three-dimensional effect, giving the penguin an almost lifelike presence. The addition of orange highlights around the beak and eyes subtly draws attention to the character’s expression, adding to the overall charm. Sanderman’s ability to merge minimalism with narrative storytelling is on full display here, transforming a simple moment into something truly engaging.

Ideal for collectors who appreciate both craftsmanship and whimsy, Penguin B is signed and ready to be showcased. This artwork is currently available for purchase at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea and online.
