I wanted to make sure the elephant in this piece was coming forward out of the dusk. With the deep colours in the flower crown and the elephants body I was able to lose some of the hard edges in places. Before I turned to art full time in 2000, I was the public relations manager for a local zoo. I got to spend a lot of time with wild beasts every day.
