Sushi and Sashimi Pigeon

The pigeon foodie collection began in 2019 as an installation in New York City called “The Locals”. The installation included 25 pigeon paintings and 12 life size sculptures. Each with a crown of a New York City food.
The inspiration for these paintings comes from several sources…first my background in the Zoo and Aquarium industry where I worked before becoming a full time artist. Second, from my daughter who as a toddler would put the first bite of every meal on top of her head, like a crown.
Over the years, my pigeon paintings have flown into public and private collections around the globe. I make a series of 12 pigeons every spring and every fall. They sell out each season.
This pigeon is one of four I’ve made especially for Signet Contemporary Art’s Holiday show.
