EXHIBITION
2nd Jul – 31st Aug 2022
Signet Contemporary Art is pleased to present a summer themed exhibtion, showing works ranging from abstract to figurative, each with a strong personal vision that evokes the bright and radiant ambience of summer. A vibrant and captivating selection of new and original works of art demonstrate the unique practice and style of each artist. This includes our treasured established and emerging artists comprised of Alison Johnson, Ian Hargreaves, Angela Faustina, Calvin Lai, Annie King, Dairo Vargas, Anne Songhurst, Lenny Cornforth, Jonathan Trim and Micheal Alford. There will be a wide range of subject matter, styles and medium on view. The exhibition is carefully curated to offer many different approaches to conveying the atmosphere of summertime, providing an exuberant mix of pieces of art in which no two interpretations are the same.
Landscapes and architecture have inspired several of the artists, who all interpret our contemporary world in interesting and evocative ways. This ranges from the emotively charged, sensuous panoramas and natural vistas expressed in abstract gestures by Alison Johnson, to the soothing Venetian impressions imparted by Ian Hargreaves. Additionally Michael Alford provides modern impressions of the local area as well as blissful coastal scenes composing busy, charming beaches filled with figures. Theres is some astonishing realism work including Anne Songhurst’s meticulously rendered delectable still life arrangements, bringing attention to the beauty of everyday objects, complemented with Calvin Lai’s intimate figurative studies imbued with a reverence and sensitivity to the engaging glamour of his subjects.
This is a great opportunity to pick up an original, unique piece of art to enhance the home this summer!
